Postdoctoral researcher will play a key role in facilitating collaboration within the research team, overseeing the integration of experimental and simulation results to be gathered by the consortium of the NCN Sonata Bis research project “From Plasmid DNA to FLASH Radiotherapy: Experimental and Computational Insights”. The researcher responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing data and its uncertainties, synthesizing the findings into coherent reports, presenting them during project meetings, and ensuring effective communication between the modeling and experimental experts. Specifically, the researcher will be heavily engaged in data analysis and model tuning, and will be included in all steps leading to comparing experimental and simulation results. At the beginning of the project, the researcher will be responsible for constructing a device to regulate oxygenation levels in plasmid samples. The postdoctoral researcher will support the project PI.
Skills/Qualifications
- A PhD degree in physics, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline,
- A strong scientific track record and ongoing research activity in the interdisciplinary area of physics, biology, and chemistry, supported by publications in reputable international peer-reviewed journals, demonstrating the ability to work independently in a laboratory setting,
- Solid understanding of the physical, chemical, and biological principles underlying the interaction of ionizing radiation with biological material,
- Experience in synthesizing and analyzing data from diverse research teams, as well as proficiency with modeling techniques and statistical methods,
- Experience in software development, including programming skills and proficiency in Python,
- Excellent English (both spoken and written), along with outstanding communication skills and team work
Welcome:
- Experience with methods for regulating oxygen levels in biological samples,
- Experience in proton radiotherapy or FLASH radiotherapy,
- Good working knowledge of the Linux operating environment.
