We are looking for a Medical Physicist to join our team at the Department of Radiotherapy.
The Department of Radiotherapy is the only clinic in Iceland offering radiotherapy. We treat around 750 patients yearly with two Varian TrueBeam linacs and a brachytherapy afterloader. Our purpose is to deliver excellent clinical outcomes with high accuracy radiotherapy.
We seek an ambitious medical physicist who takes initiative and is comfortable working in a team environment.
The position is available from September 1st but starting date is negotiable.
Typical tasks and duties
- Overseeing or being directly involved with radiotherapy treatment planning and pre-treatment preparation
- Dosimetry, calibration and QA of linacs and associated equipment
- Implementation of new techniques
- Participation in teaching and training
Experience and skills
- MSc. In Physics is essential
- MSc. In Medical Physics is desirable
- Experience and a broad knowledge of radiotherapy treatment, brachytherapy and imaging techniques is desirable
- Excellent communication skills, ambition, and ability to prioritize and manage own work is essential
- Knowledge of the Icelandic language is desirable
- Fluency in English and willingness to learn Icelandic is essential
