61st SFPM annual meeting
Start Date: Jun 7th, 2023 08:00
End Date: Jun 9th, 2023 16:30

Location: Nancy, France
The city of Nancy, in the north east part of France will host the 61st edition of the annual meeting of the French Medical Physics Society (SFPM) from June 7 to 9, 2023.
Around 450 persons will participate to the major annual scientific event of the French MP society. Audience will be mainly constituted of medical physicists as well as dosimetrists, RTTs, technicians and clinicians.
The scientific committee has built an attractive programme mixing innovative themes as well as daily practice concerns. Around 100 abstracts have been received for either oral or electronic poster presentation.
Topics of interest will be covered in the three main areas of expertise of medical physicists: radiation therapy, nuclear medicine and radiology/medical imaging, with invited authors and proffered papers. Talented international invited speakers have kindly accepted to contribute to the conference (coming from USA, UK, Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium). The radiation therapy track will deal with movement management, process and metrology of quality assurance, delineation and new treatment planning challenges, brachytherapy and innovative techniques (such as FLASH therapy, cardiac arrhythmia stereotactic radioablation…). In nuclear medicine, topics will be focused on new technologies (for example Total Body PET) and on therapeutic applications. Artificial intelligence and spectral CT will constitute the main part of the medical imaging track. More general topics concerning Cybersecurity and roles and responsibilities of medical physicists in clinical research as well as in the daily practice will be discussed.
Like every year, authors can postulate to the best presentation awards. Young physicists (students and under 3 years of professional experience) are encouraged to communicate to the scientific community with one award for the best oral presentation and one award for the best e-poster. The selection is going to be difficult!
An exhibition hall of 500 m² will provide a convivial environment for the industrial partners to present their products and latest developments.
The local organisation board and the SFPM are impatient to welcome the medical physics community in Nancy.
