International Medical Physics Week (IMPW) in 2020 announced by the International Organization for Medical Physics
Announcing the IMPW, Prof. Madan M. Rehani, President of IOMP, said: "I am delighted to see enthusiasm of many colleagues across the world in doing their best to enhance the contribution and importance of medical physics among medical professionals and among public. We always have uphill task when it comes to creation of awareness of our role among public. It is this need that made IOMP establish International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) earlier in 2013 and now International Medical Physics Week (IMPW) in 2020."
2020 marks the 40th anniversary of the foundation of EFOMP. Throughout the year we will be celebrating with online events and articles.
- EFOMP will join the International Medical Physics Week, 11th-15th May, by launching the first “EFOMP@40” event, its Birthday Cake competition!
- Together with Irish colleagues in IAPM, EFOMP will also host a “Lockdown webinar” which will be associated with IOMP’s IMPW. Lockdown lecture 5: Implementing a system for automated, remote quality assurance in CT, Radiography and Mammography given by Erik Teselaar, Linköping University Hospital, Sweden and Liz Keavey, Irish Breast Screening Service, Ireland.
