The EOC, Ticino's multi-site hospital, operates throughout the canton, providing a total of 1’000 beds. The Institute for Integrated Diagnostics of Italian-speaking Switzerland (IDISI) brings together the clinics of radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology, and laboratory medicine. With approximately 600 employees and nearly 4 million examinations and analyses performed each year, it offers a comprehensive, high-quality diagnostic service, meeting the needs of patients residing throughout the canton. Overcoming traditional specialist barriers, IDISI adopts a multidisciplinary approach to promote more efficient and personalized diagnostic and therapeutic pathways, capable of specifically addressing the specific needs of each patient.

The Institute also focuses on university teaching and the promotion of biomedical research. To complete our Medical Physics Service team, we are looking for a:
Medical Physicist (100%)

Profile:
The Medical Physics Service employs 7 Medical Physicists, 2 Dosimetrists, and a technologist who deal with radiotherapy, radiation protection, and imaging, carrying out their activities in the various departments of the EOC.
The available equipment includes:


 2 LINAC Varian TrueBeam with integrated imaging e 6DoF couch;
 Dedicated CT Siemens Somatom Xcite;
 MRI Philips Ingenia 1.5 T with MRCAT software for MRI only workflow;
 Brainlab ExacTrac for stereotactic treatments and radiosurgery;
 Surface imaging CRAD: 2 Catalyst HD e 1 Sentinel for 4DCT e DIBH;
 Varian ARIA Record and Verify System e TPS Eclipse for planning (3DCT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS,SRT);
 TPS Brainlab Elements (Spine and Multiple Brain Mets module) for SRS e cranial and spinal SRT;
 Electronic brachytherpy Sistem Xoft Axxent for Gynecological brachitherapy, IORT and skin treatment;
 System Alba 4000D for superficial hyperthermia and Alba 4D for depth hyperthermia.


The candidate will be responsible for planning radiotherapy treatments, supervising the work of dosimetrists, and will oversee quality control of LINACs and equipment. They will also participate in research and development. They will also have the opportunity to collaborate on radiation protection and imaging activities.

Necessary requirements:
 Master's degree in physics, a Swiss specialization in Medical Physics, or equivalent;
 professional experience in radiotherapy;
 ability to work in a team, interest in developing new skills in the field of radiotherapy, radiation protectionand imaging;
 resourcefulness and intellectual curiosity;
 knowledge of English and preferably German are required to enter the competition. Knowledge of Italianis not a preferential qualification;
 work experience with Varian technology is preferred;
 identification with the organization's values.
