Job description
Radionuclide therapy is an emerging treatment modality for patients with metastasized cancer. By systemically administering radiolabeled molecules designed to target cancer cells, this therapy offers a unique approach to precision oncology. Dosimetry plays a crucial role in predicting efficacy, minimizing toxicity, and optimizing existing and newly developed radionuclide therapies.
We are seeking a motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team, focusing on clinical and preclinical dosimetry for radionuclide therapy. This role involves advanced and fundamental research aimed at improving treatment planning and dose-response understanding, alongside responsibilities for radiation safety protection within the department.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on clinical and preclinical dosimetry for radionuclide therapy.
- Optimize treatment planning and analyze dose-effect relationships.
- Collaborate with researchers to develop and implement specific dosimetry models for various experiments; from in-vitro cells, tissue to small animals and in patients.
- Perform Python-based programming and write Gate/Geant4 Monte Carlo scripts for (pre)clinical dosimetry models.
- Develop quantitative SPECT imaging methods for 177Lu, 225Ac and other novel radionuclides on a state-of-the-art CZT system.
Benefits:
Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team in an international research environment. Great opportunities to develop your own research area and to publish high-impact research articles and present findings at conferences.
