We are looking for a PhD candidate to develop a Compton Camera for medical imaging. Possible applications are cancer treatment using targeted-alpha therapy and functional imaging. The detector consists of a scatterer material and an absorber for the scattered gammas. Both detectors are read out using SiPMs. Your responsibility is to build a prototype detector and evaluate its performance. There is a close collaboration with the department of electrical engineering where a real time image reconstruction will be developed.
