Toulouse Cancer Research Centre (France) team 15 (Multi resolution dosimetry for radiotherapy optimization) is opening a 3-year position for a research scientist.
Scientific context: Clinical radiopharmaceutical dosimetry requires several steps. It is therefore difficult to evaluate the accuracy of the complete chain from scintigraphic imaging to absorbed dose calculation. In 2011 the project DosiTest (www.dositest.com) was initiated by our team with the aim to evaluate the impact of the various steps that contribute to a dosimetric study, by means of a virtual multicentric intercomparison based on Monte Carlo modelling. Previous work performed in our team led to the proof of concept of DosiTest. A lot of work still remains to be done with the final aim of proposing a reference methodology for radiopharmaceutical dosimetry applicable in a clinical context.
Job description: The selected applicant will carry on the development of DosiTest, mostly in the aspects connected to SPECT/CT modelling of clinical images, while actively participating to 2 on going European projects (Medirad and MRTdosimetry). The ideal candidate will have a background in Medical Physics, and preferably some experience in radiopharmaceutical dosimetry. The candidate will have a strong background in programming (C++, scripting languages such as Tcl, Python). A good knowledge of Gate is recommended. The project is on-going, so the candidate should be available as soon as possible, for a duration of 3 years.
