What are SIGs?
Each Special Interest Group (SIG) consists of individual Medical Physicists with an interest in a particular field. The SIGs operates under the umbrella of the Science Committee see Terms of Reference. In order to carry out their work SIGS will set up short-lived working groups.
A short report on the new SIG structure has been published on EMPNews_summer2010.
To date SIGs have been set up in the following areas:
SIG on Diagnostic Radiology (DR SIG) and this has 3 different working groups (WG):
- The Mammo WG with the scope to develop a QC protocol for digital mammography systems. The WG is lead by This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. - The DICOM WG with the scope to discuss and provide comments on working documents of DICOM community and propose new standards. The WG is lead by This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
- The Angiography WG aiming to develop a QC protocol of dynamic flat panel angiography units both for cardiac, neuro and peripheral clinical application. This WG is in he process of being set up and does not yet have a leader.
