Participation of EFOMP in ESTRO36 / VIENNA

Dear collegues,

ESTRO 36 organized by the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology will take place 5-9 May 2017, in Vienna, Austria. ESTRO is an interdisciplinary society where radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiobiologists, brachytherapists and radiation therapists aspire to join forces with other organizations in the oncology field that share ESTRO’s vision of excellence in cancer treatment.
The European Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics will have a booth at the Communities Pavilion located in the exhibition area at ESTRO 36. Based on the success of the Cancer Centres Pavilion introduced at ESTRO 35 in Turin, the concept of this activity has been extended under the new name of Communities Pavilion to include this year, in addition to institutions, national societies as well as patient associations, each represented within one booth. The Communities Pavilion is designed to foster exchanges about science, projects, collaborations, job opportunities, and will provide a networking forum for the wide range of stakeholders in radiation oncology.
If you are attending ESTRO 36, please visit EFOMP booth C9 in the exhibition hall from 5-8 May 2017 to find more information on the ECMP 2018, the ESMPE_MRI 2017 and the virtual sample issue of the European Journal of Medical Physics especially designed for delegates at the ESTRO 36.
The ESTRO Communities Pavilion is open to all ESTRO 36 participants. Entrance is free and pre-registration is not necessary.
Opening hours: Friday 5 May from around 19:30 - 20:30 (at the welcome reception), Saturday 6 May to Monday 8 May from 09:30- 17:00.

EFOMP has recently established EEB (EFOMP Examination Board)

Dear Presidents and Delegates of EFOMP National Member Organizations,

EFOMP has recently established EEB (EFOMP Examination Board) to facilitate the harmonization of Medical Physics education and training standards throughout Europe. EEB introduces the European Diploma of Medical Physics (EDMP) and the European Attestation Certificate to those Medical Physicists that have reached the Medical Physics Expert level (EACMPE). The Board organizes its 1st examinations for EDMP in the field of ‘Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology’ and for EACMPE in the field of ‘Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology’ during the ESMPE Summer School in Prague, July 6-8, 2017. Deadline for applications: May 7, 2017 (first-come, first-served basis). Further information can be found here: http://www.efomp.org/index.php/eeb

I would also like to remind you that the medical physics societies in Denmark and Sweden are jointly hosting ECMP 2018. Please visit the website http://ecmp2018.org/ and download material http://ecmp2018.org/download/ to promote our Congress. The local organizing committee is currently redesigning/updates the website so please stay tuned to the website for updates.

I would kindly ask you to forward this message to your members.

Many thanks and best wishes,
John
